Day score 8: Well rested and got lots of sleep but my legs are still sore from the throwdown’

This went awesome today! My HSW were fast and had a lot of confidence kicking up into them. Last set I was able to come down, turn around & kick back up right away!

195 – 6,6,4 – left knee felt a little painful & form was pretty trash. Need to lower slowly and with more control.

8 rounds – My plan was to hold 90s round pace. Unbroken sets of both movements with big rests between everything. This worked really well until somewhere in the 5th round my shoulders and heart just blew up out of nowhere! Really was feeling good and happy that I was holding pace until that point. These felt really good today hip drive wise. A little sloppy with the feet but part of that was because the rings I was using felt slick today. May experiment with not using grips. I’ll send you the RMU videos on Instagram because YouTube is bugging out on me right now.

9 front squats into the 205 bar – honestly super happy with how quickly the first 3 rounds went. Then the 205 S2O just crushed me. Took me at least 5 minutes to get through it? I also accidentally did 8-8-6 on the first two rounds 🤦🏻‍♂️ Also did this in my garage which was about 96 degrees so that was not fun lol. I think if I had been able to get through those S2O faster I would’ve been able to sprint to finish the squats and jumps pretty easily. Really wasn’t feeling blown up.

Day score 7: Spent a lot of the day out in the sun again and felt pretty tired after work. Had a coffee pre workout and that helped. Had good sleep last night.

A. 2 “small” ring swings into 1 “max-effort” ring swing x5, rest as needed

*focus- reaching w/ toes in the arch position. Think of getting as long as you can. Keep legs and knees straight. Use a towel between the feet if needed. Film each rep and watch it back before completing next set. 

B. 1 “max-effort” ring swing + open hip front swing x5, rest as needed

*keep bodyline position from “A” – add in a hip drive when you transition into the front swing (if your arms bend and you hips drive- that is okay. But keep the focus on the hip drive for this step)

C. 1 “max-effort” ring swing + open hip front swing WITH aggressive pull to shoulders x5, rest as needed

*A+B + getting shoulders as high as you can. Goal is to look like the bottom picture- shoulders are highest point, then hips, then knees.

I really need to work on keeping my feet pointed even after initiating the hip drive. I had my friends watch my drills and they all noticed that as well. I also got talked into trying one which felt surprisingly good after all this time but they filmed it for you to see the legs
